What are the advantages of using BrAPI?The Breeding API specifies a standard interface for plant phenotype/genotype databases to serve their data to crop breeding applications. It is a shared, open API, to be used by all data providers and data consumers who wish to participate.
BrAPI is compatible with both the Multi-Crop Passport Descriptors (MCPD) and Minimum Information About a Plant Phenotyping Experiment (MIAPPE).
Optimised for speed
A lot of effort has been invested to make BrAPI a fast and responsive API. Large data sets are transfered in very optimized file formats to save time.
BrAPI covers a variety of areas targeted at plant breeding like genotyping, field trials and geographic information. A lot of these can be combined, but also work independently.
